CFB IS BACK

234 days ago Georgia beat Alabama.

3,933 days ago was the last rendition of the Backyard Brawl.

And tonight, we are back.

Yeah there was some week 0 fodder last week, but tonight we have very real, bonified, college football with a massive rivalry that has been MIA for a decade due to conference realignment and it feels like Joshua leading the Israelites into the promised land after 40 years in the wilderness.

From 7 EST tonight until Clemson and GT finish up on Monday, we've got the best weekend of the year. Pure, unadulterated, college football with massive upsets and soft lines where you can score some wins at your bookie.

We're going to have our USF preview up tomorrow - but today we are focusing on CFB at large and how to optimize your fandom experience.

Figure out your multiple game situation

Roku is fine. Chromecast is OK. Fire stick or whatever Amazon calls it is whatever.

If you are a streamer - FuboTV with an Apple TV is the best viewing experience and it's not close. You can do 4 games at once. Apple TV can also do 4 games on the ESPN app, but then you can't get into that mid degenerate stuff like pulling up a MAC game on CBS Sports while watching the SEC game of the week. If Hulu had mutli-view, I would've stayed, but alas Fubo gets my money this year.

If you need multiple TVs figure it out. If you want your ipad, your phone and a TV and your computer, that works too.

You are a crackhead going through massive withdrawals and you're about to get the biggest hit of your life.

Plan the games you are interested in

For us old-timers, we are well acquanted with the lsufootball.net schedule.

But my friends, I am here to introduce you to a new guy in town that is bigger adn better (unless you are truly a degenerate who is looking for info out top 25 NAIA matchups):

CFB Guide

You can make an account, star all the games you are interested in and even share a link - here's my viewing schedule.

Save your own link as a bookmark to see where you need to be and when.

Knowing when BYU is playing is one thing, but to really up your game you gotta plan your chores and honey-dos around Ohio State and ND kicking off as well is viewing at a higher level.

Get your menu on lock

During independence, I've become a fan of doing regional food based on the opponent. Last year for USF we did Cubanos. I haven't decided what I'm doing Saturday, but it'll be something.

Just take a minute to actually plan what you want to eat. This is good for two reasons:

  1. You will probably eat better quality food
  2. You will probably eat healthier food and not gain your CFB-15.

You need to make sure your drink situation is locked and loaded. Pace yourself to time bathroom breaks during the dreaded PAT-commercial-kickoff-commercial sequence.

Leave a Built Bar out for Cosmo

Okay, it doesn't have to be a Built Bar, but make sure you are ready for Cougar Day.

You only have a few days left to get some gear. But we will have our BYU stockings out (if I can find the box they are in from when we moved) and my kids will write Cosmo a note. He will leave them with maple bars for breakfast, new shirts, and every chip and snack and treat a toddler could dream of to post up and watch the game on Saturday.

Cosmo > Santa.
